>> I love Skippy and his sensitive approach to helping the centaurs. <<

Yay!

>> But his traumatic brain injury may be a factor there. <<

It really is.

>> He decided that he didn't want to be limited in what he did so he matured and made workable plans for when his powers act up, which as we already know shows his maturity.<<

For him, that works. For other people, respecting their limits works better. You have to try different things and see what fits with both your body and your personality.

>>I like Kite and I'm sure she can handle Hobart and maybe curb his more pushy tendencies.<<

Kite will help, but so will Conrad.

>> I love how Skippy taught the centaurs about balance and coached Ariel on how her wings help her with her balance. Hmm, Ariel believes that her wings act up but what if her wings are automatically trying to balance her when they flare like that? It could also act as a warning for people not to get too close.<<

Exactly. Her wings come with their own set of instincts. Wings and tails aren't meant to stay still, they're meant to move in response to the environment. From a human perspective, that may look like fidgeting, but it has purpose.

Plenty of soups have wings that aren't useful for actual flying, but that aid balance and allow gliding or at least extended jumps, assist braking, etc.
