I'm going after the Iron Horses poems first. The quarter-price total for those is $92; if nobody else signs up, I'll toss another $8 at "A Cave Swimming with Strange Forms of Life" to get to $100. Anyone who wants to put in at least that much is in for whatever they'd like to buy or help with.
I'm also interested in the Calliope/Vagary Big One poem, "That Strength You Get from a Team" ($64 at quarter-price) and the Officer Pink and the centaurs poems ("On the Other Side of Fear" is $79.25, "Those Who Have Suffered" is $140.50; total just a hair under $220). If enough help for those shows up, I'll put in some there to finish things off as circumstances permit.
So there's my pool announcement. I'm officially looking for co-sponsors.
I may have jumped the gun and already bought poems. I wasn't sure if there was a quarter price option so I transfered the full amount. I am willing to use my "extra" money to help fund your pool as I am also interested in the Officer Pink poems. I should have just over $150 to use, though I'm not entirely certain how this works. (Frist time I've uused the quarter price bonus). If you let me know what would be most useful, I will pass along my wishes to ysabetwordsmith.
It's my fault for not putting the quarter-price text in the post; I had to add it later. :/ So that means you effectively paid double. That leaves you $153.75 to direct into more poetry.
One option would be to put all that into the pool, as you proposed.
Another would be to put it into the sequels to "Confused, Screwed Up, But Here." Check my math, but I think that would cover the next three in full and open "Whatever You Seek" for microfunding. You've already unlocked "Screwed" by siliconshaman but that thread is in active development, so there's definite value in posting more of it to avoid bottlenecking.
We'll get it straightened out. Just keep an eye on the numbers, I'm not good with them.
I am considering two options right now. The first is what you suggested, buying the remaining sequels to "Confused, Screwed up, but Here", in which case I owe you $9.50
The second option is more complex. I have enough to buy "Unless you let us know you're down there" ($29), "A corresponding clarity of purpose" ($26.75), and "On the other side of fear" ($79.25), which was one of the pool objectives. That would leave me with $19.75 which I could either put in the pool or put towards "Only if it is embraced".
Both of these options give me things I want and I'm really not sure which I want more. If you have a preference for ease of accounting or other reasons, I'm happy to go with your preference. Otherwise, I will work on making a decision so I don't hold anyone else up.
Of the two, sponsoring the rest of the sequels is simpler, easier, and less likely to go astray in some way. This also clears the board for siliconshaman to write and post the stuff after "Screwed" that deals with Luci's family.
I'm fine with whichever option you decide to pursue. I frequently target poems that unlock others, so sponsoring the Shiv/Luci thread would be fun because it unlocks a whole bunch of stuff. So go with what your heart tells you. There are other people out there who may well decide to get in on the fun.
Sorry about the delay. I've been traveling, and home internet is messed up right now. If you wanted to contribute, it would be appreciated, and cause more of the target list to be published.
So, sure, let me know how much you'd like to be in for. I am checking with ysabetwordsmith right now, to see whether we can work this out. Will send you info on that and details on how to fund it once I know what's happening and can get back on.
It's alright, I understand about travel, it certainly disrupts things. I was worried about missing the end of the sale, so I went on and sent in the donation to ysabetwordsmith. So there's $15 waiting to be added to whatever you decide to grab in the pool, that was sent before the end of the sale.
Didn't see a quarter-price option

Date: 2018-11-20 01:11 am (UTC)Yes, Ysabetwordsmith is having a sale here https://ysabetwordsmith.dreamwidth.org/11621682.html
I want the final 2 poems involving Projective Altruism and trying to boost to get MORE of Cleaning Achnai's Oven posted for everyone.
Now I need to ask if the quarter price goes in effect again for spending over $100. :-D
If it goes to quarter price, I can afford them. Otherwise, anyone want to chip towards getting these?
Yes ...
