Yeah, I factored that in. That was why I started with (8.9) Fukushima. (9.2) Portland, by itself, would release about twice the energy (log base 10 of 2 is just over .3). Then multiply by another 10 or so (maybe higher?) for all the secondary quakes. Factoring in energy transmission (linear) and impact (should be inverse-square) makes my estimate of the impact in Japan as four or five times that of the Fukushima tsunami here -- plenty to go around.
