>> OOOOH! Hong Kong Calamari?! dunno if that's what you had in mind, but the stuff is wonderful! Wee squiddie dunked in a black-peppery tempura and flash-fried ... my favourite dim sum place is awesome at it. <<
This is a platter of huge tentacles, but may well be similar in flavor.
>> Dang, I miss dim sum. Too much of it is treif for it to be worth taking my in-house people (unlike a sushi joint, where there is enough finfish to be satisfying)... and there hasn't been a regular group of fen in over a decade... <<
Alas!
>> I was like, how'd there get to be good Chinese in Tulsa? Oh, right. Railroads. Chinese and Irishmen. Neither considered white at the time... <<
Likely so. I just researched best takeout restaurants in town and found that one. Teleporters network avidly on this topic.
>> (Ironically? it's tough to get *good* Chinese in Seattle outside of the International District. There's one really good place across the interstate that has hand-shaved noodles, though... nom.) <<
Huh, that's weird. The West Coast has lots of Chinese people.
>> And I hear tell crab rangoon is easy to make... ) <<
We found a frozen version, but it wasn't great. However, we also found a brand that sells pork potstickers in big bags, which are delicious, easy to heat up, and not too full of junk.
Well ...
