I would expect a mane, which is what you get if you leave Afro-textured hair alone except for detangling it. That can be done with fingers, but probably the lions lick her too. Given their size, I imagine that would work like a currycomb.
If you don't detangle it, you wind up with dreadlocks. That's culturally and contextually valid, but less lion-like.
