That's why I'm so outraged at what society considers "mental care." It's about at the stage of "virtuous pus" that surgery went through: waiting until the problem is catastrophic before trying to fix it. They don't even have the basics of "When you get hurt, clean the injury immediately and examine it to see if it might need expert care." And then they wonder why so many maladies are so hard to treat. Well, if they'd fucking well do something before a raging infection set in, that might improve the outcomes! >_<

I hope the situation gets better for you. Therapists can do a lot of good ... or a lot of harm. It's not always easy to tell those apart.
