I guess so... it would be very hard wearing too. Actually, given the probable rate of wear, you could pass that down through several generations before it would even show signs of use.
Heh... the sort of thing that a thousand years from now, after the fall of civilisation maybe, they'd be taking about ancient knowledge and ascribing it mystical properties..
