"two little girls"
white spring flowers
open petals
over water
and swimming fish
two little girls
coming to school
exchange shy looks
at each other
one taller, slim,
with smooth paper
in her small hands
creased into cranes
one shorter, round,
with bright scissors
and butterflies
cut from paper
magic twinkles
from their fingers:
same, not the same,
as yet untrained
the breezes blow
the flowers fall
the fish circle
hungry, unfed

Yay!
