Poem: Darrow Poems from 1-1-17

This batch of poems was written outside the main prompt calls. They were sponsored by the pool with
ng_moonmoth. These are written from the perspective of my darrow elves from Hallelaine. Think haiku or tanka with a fantasy twist. Most of them have nature themes while others are macabre or enlightened.
Warning: Some of these may be unsettling. Please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.
Darrow Poems
within the wind
hidden like a knife in a sheath
the sound of my name
* * *
dawn
a splinter of sunlight
pulled from night's paw
* * *
the cattails
hide the water
like a trapdoor
over a bottomless pit
* * *
only the seeds
which are buried
may sprout in spring
* * *
the willow bends
the elm breaks
the moss does neither,
yet is stepped upon
