>> Very nice! <<

Thank you!

>> I really liked seeing Kenzie, who hasn't had anything like it at any time in [his?] life, experiencing compassion and respect -- and wondering what he's done to deserve it. <<

:D Folks have been explaining, slowly, so I think it will sink in over time. There are the intrinsic worth aspects of being human and being two-spirit, and the worthy action aspect of the Sun Dance because even if Kenzie didn't do it on purpose, he did work with it once he had it.

>> Understanding that the compassion arises from having been injured by others and the world, <<

Yeah, that part makes a lot more sense to Kenzie, because he's been knocked around so much himself.

>> and that the respect, beyond the default level of respect that almost everyone deserves, is for who [he?] might become as [he?] walks the path that has become [his?]. <<

This one is trickier for Kenzie, because he doesn't have the culture reference yet. I think he'll figure it out eventually as he sees what two-spirits do in a tribal society. They're mediators, problem-solvers, spiritual consultants, all kinds of things.

>> [It doesn't appear Kenzie has thought about pronouns yet, or which ones to use. So I'm flagging them for now, to indicate uncertainty.] <<

Fair enough. He hasn't thought about pronouns yet. I suspect that Kenzie stick with "he" because the gender divergence was subtle enough to go largely unnoticed until someone more experienced pointed it out to him.

>> You mentioned that "Come Out of the Darkness" is now publishable. Just in case "Said to the Four Winds" extends this sequence, how much is that one? <<

Here is the current sequence of unpublished poems in the Iron Horses thread, all featuring Kenzie:

"Come Out of the Darkness"
266 lines, Buy It Now = $133

"Sheltered and True"
532 lines, Buy It Now = $266

"Said to the Four Winds"
565 lines, Buy It Now = $283
