This poem came out of the September 2013
crowdfunding Creative Jam. It was inspired by the artwork of Choi Xoo Ang. It has been sponsored by

"The Sum of Her Parts"
The gynoid has a body
comprised of bits and pieces,
a haphazard collection
held together by glue and hope.
Most of her head is pinkish-fair,
the top half of her face covered
by a white mask like a skull,
her red-rimmed eyes protruding through it.
Her torso is golden-skinned
with barely a flare at breasts and hips,
her waist nearly straight.
Her right arm is part of it,
except for the pinkish hand;
her left arm is slightly paler.
Her legs do not fit properly.
The right is pale, just a little small,
like a high boot almost reaching her crotch.
The left is much too small,
cinched tight halfway between
hip and knee, constricting
the soft padding that is her flesh.
Even though she is not
born of woman,
the gynoid feels like a woman.
She feels.
She feels hope and despair,
joy and suffering.
She watches
the born-women go by,
gives them a pleading look,
but they return only contempt.
The gynoid is
somehow less than
the sum of her parts
but she doesn't let that stop her.

Notes:
See the gynoid.
A gynoid is a robot that resembles a human woman. Fembot is another term for them, although in the context of this series, gynoid is the local term in use.
