Yeah, Ethan has no end of people he could turn to for help. The problem is that supervillains are so protective of the few healers they have that they tend to fuss. Ethan doesn't like that, which makes him tend to avoid them when he feels worse than usual.
Conversely, Ansel has actual training in trauma-informed care. He sets a minimum standard that injuries have to treated, but beyond that, if Ethan just wants a warm corner to curl up in and be left alone, that's fine. And that's enough for Ethan to view this as a viable refuge under stress. \o/

Some people find that helping others makes them feel better. Turq is turning out to make a good animal therapist.
