I had heard "like a pretzel", but I suppose a paperclip is more appropriate to Shiv for any number of reasons... :D
But he needs safer outlets for those urges than carving on himself with whatever junk is handy. :/
I know of at least one place that gives *classes* on that and related subjects. *That* is a bit of a squick, but the way you write it at least doesn't set me off, so *reading* about it is okay.
You are one of a very few authors I trust to take me through that kind of thing ... or just about anything. Your approach to the characters having fun (or not, and then dealing with it effectively) translates into your writing... it's deeply appreciated.
Pain's Gray/Shiv... LIGHT ME A FUCKING CANDLE. (That is, after all, next months' theme... :D )
Now, I wonder. Would Shiv do better there with a scoot, or a doobie? One might want a wee bit of a damper if one has just had one's needles pegged quite firmly.... but then, this *is* Shiv... o/~ More, more more! o/~
