My partner Doug tipped me to this awesome video of bubble art. I have seen bubble art before, including the cubical one, but this far surpasses those. I imagine my superwhales would enjoy this very much.
and yeah, I imagine your super cetaceans would... hmm... I wonder if there might be a beach fare/party to celebrate a successful conclusion to the case or something? As a unicorn chaser to the whole affair.
You need a combination of Water and Air magic to manipulate bubbles. It's pretty clear in a few places that this artist is using more than mere physics. :D

That's entirely possible. Bubble artists are quite popular as beach performers, and the Maldives is heavily invested in tourism so they have hospitality workers out the wazoo. That could easily clue people to look for something more elaborate in the way of stage performances. One of the guys in Maneki Neko does bubble art on par with that video. :D
Yes, I imagine the competition would be fierce among the hospitality workers. I wonder if it might be enough to drive them to point where they leave Moderato and Steel slack jawed at the surface dwellers mastery of a medium they thought they had the edge in..

I suspect that it would start with one or more beach performers of average skill, resulting in walking-dog response. The whales are impressed that humans can do it at all, not that they can do it well. But some beachwalking bubble artists are better. That might get a more enthusiastic response. The people with real finesse seem to prefer stage work, which is something that could be looked up.
