>>So me and my sort of like Turq body were press ganged into a mandatory attendance mandatory limited menu company wide dinner at HQ which is a 2 hour drive from home with less than 2 days notice (I have an uncommon food allergy to a VERY COMMON FOOD ITEM in black and red pepper) <<

For future reference: You can't trust normal people with your health and diet. It's sad, but true. Any time it's not safe to eat what you're served or bring your own food, eat before you go. Then just tell people you don't feel like eating. If you can identify anything safe on the plate, nibble at it for cover.

Last major family event I went to, I packed a munchie bag due to past experiences. We showed up 15 minutes past when food was supposed to be available. It was, of course, nowhere near available. I lasted 5 minutes in the noisy, crowded, miserable building before my body rebelled; stood out in the rain for another 5 minutes; and when it wouldn't settle, went back to the car and used my own supplies to resolve the matter.

>>As is typical (nay I shall say nearly a certainty or inevitability!) in this situation I was of course subsequently very violently and unpleasantly ill mere moments after literally having to text a friend to call and bail me from the restaurant with an "emergency." In the busy walkable down town. at night. in front of a police officer. <<

That sucks.

>> He assumed I was drunk or under the influence at first, quickly dismissed that assumption, stayed calm even when I nearly passed out into the bushes<<

Impressive.

>> (because I was heaving so hard I couldn't even friggin breathe, then listened when I was able to talk and told him it was an allergic reaction even though he nearly called 911 on me because he freaked and bandied about the word "Anaphalaxis" (which HELL NO! NO ER UNLESS I AM LITERALLY DYING AND CANT TALK) <<

In theory, you have a right to refuse medical treatment. In practice, that only holds true as long as you're coherent enough to threaten to sue people if they violate your body, or have some other means to force them to respect your rights. Otherwise they tend to do whatever they want. And then they wonder why so many people "don't want help."

>> GOLD STAR to that fine officer, proof that every police force is capable of a little Pink-tinged T-America now and again! :D <<

Thanks for sharing. It's wonderful to hear that some city has spent its money well. \o/ You can always drop a note to the station, even if you didn't get his name or badge ID, and let them know that the techniques were helpful. There's not much that can make that miserable situation better, but not making it worse is still a huge help.
