>> Huh, pity they're nowhere near NYC.. Leonard the Coyote would and could probably help Turq...<<
Ansel is picking up favorable connections at a brisk pace, and from him to Skippy to Skippy's teleport mentor is a short route to getting pretty much anywhere.
The main limitation at the moment is that Turq has been knocked around so much, that's impairing his ability to interact with people. Ansel's first priority, very sensibly, is to help Turq get his survival needs met -- food, shelter, clothing, etc. -- and preferably without breaking the law all the time to do it. Once Turq settles down a bit, Ansel will shift focus to repairing as much of the damage as can be, which means looking around for additional support.
>>although what his reaction would be to a talking coyote with a cyborg leg, who knows...but Leonard knows about survival. <<
Probably quite favorable. Turq is less skittish in caney form, and while Ansel describes that as "dog-fox-wolf" in shape, the personality is far more coyote than anything else. He doesn't mind technology per se but is hysterical on the topic of labs and mad science. That might take a bit of careful presentation, but on the whole, I think this has good potential.
>> [technically Leonard doesn't talk human, but Cypher helped program a collar with a translator in it.] <<
Turq is actually communicative in caney form and can probably parse canine interaction. It's just not as comprehensive as human languages. And thank gods, he's less broken in that shape. His animal forms just don't think about the past like human brains do, so that provides a lot of buffer against the flashbacks. The deer is skittish, but the ferret is inquisitive and the caney is pretty friendly once he gets past the trauma reaction. Notice that Turq spent a fair amount of time checking out Ansel from caney form before trying it in human form.
Hmm...
