>>I loved this chapter. I love how they all take care of each other--and let each other take care of themselves.<<
Yay!
>> I especially liked Tony stopping himself from reflexively saying he's fine and not only admitting there was a problem, but asking for help with it. <<
Yes, that's the really big leap forward in this part of the story. Even a little while ago, Tony wouldn't have done that. By now he has learned that Bruce is A) trustworthy and B) competent. So Tony is starting to respond to that new data instead of the old "I get better results just dealing with things myself."
>> And then sitting still for Bruce and only grumbling a little, and accepting his admonishment. And I awwwwwed when he fell asleep while Bruce and Bucky were taking care of him. <<
Tony really is not used to the changes in his sleep pattern yet. A good teamfamily means feeling safer, the physical activity and touch are more relaxing, better food, etc. all add up to compensating for some of the things that have wrecked his sleep in the past. Even just not nagging him about sleep helps. He can stay up for a night or two if he wants, as long as he doesn't let it go to the point of real risk, hence the three-day limit. But he hasn't done that as often.
>> I wonder what would happen if Bruce and Tony ever had a serious conflict about something... not like the squabble at game night they once had, but something more serious they'd have to work to overcome. I think it would be very hard for both of them, but they'd deal (or fail to deal) in very different ways... <<
Bad, bad things. That is actually planned as part of the major arc resolving issues between Bruce-and-Hulk, because Tony and Bruce both have lines they are serious about not crossing and that happens and it is a disaster. :( I hope I have time to write it eventually.
>>Can't wait for more! (Though I guess I'll have to. ;) ) <<
Yeah, summer is my busy season for writing. I've got assignments for the Llewellyn annuals.
