Birdfeeding
Aug. 11th, 2021 04:56 pmToday is sunny, muggy, and hot.
I fed the birds. I've seen house finches and doves. I think I saw the owl fly out of the yard when I opened the door.
There's a big branch down in the south lot, which we'll need to look at later and discuss how to deal with it.
EDIT 8/11/21 -- We looked at the branch. Some of it we could cut off ourselves, which we might do to clear more of the south lot for mowing, but some really needs someone to come out with a chainsaw.
I also saw a hummingbird through the bathroom window. We don't get those very often.
EDIT 8/11/21 -- I trimmed grass around the septic garden.
EDIT 8/11/21 -- We went out for a skywatch. There's a flock of bats swooping around the driveway, at least 3-4 of them I think. They're pretty good sized, so may be big brown bats. :D Yay bats!
We also saw a hummingbird hovering over the cornfield. I'm not sure what's attracting them, possibly morning glory. The cypress vine hasn't bloomed yet.
