This poem was written outside the regular prompt calls. It fills the Earth Day square in my 3-1-23 card for the March Is... fest. It is posted as a gift to Anthony Barrette for Father's Day.
"Where We All Meet"
No matter who we are,
where we live, or what
we do for a living, we all
live on the planet Earth.
It is the air that we breathe
and the ground beneath our feet.
It is where we all came from
and where we will return once
our time on the surface is done.
This is why we must take care of it --
there is no Planet B. This is all we have.
The environment is where we all meet,
where all have a mutual interest, for
it is the one thing all of us share.

Notes:
"The environment is where we all meet; where all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share."

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch.”
― Edgar Mitchell
I pretty much always feel that way, the memory is permed for me.
