Originally, the Maldives was ahead by a huge margin. I suspect that Thalassia would be similar. And then the rest.

True. It's unfortunate, because if you are starting a new country, you have lots of examples. You could analyze and pick the best models for each major feature. But people don't. They're usually obsessed with highlighting "their" culture.
Meanwhile over in Hallelaine, I once watched the Daughters of the Wind decide to settle down as a tribe, and since they didn't like any of the gender models available in the desert, they ripped apart what they had into loose parts and built something completely new.

I'd tear down the settler-colonial gooberments of "the americas" and put the Chiefs, Councilmembers, Elders, Medicine Men, and Warriors back in charge of these lands. It'd be beautiful. We'd have trillions of dollars they owe us to build nuclear power plants, high speed rail, and all kinds of stuff.
The Kingdom of Hawai'i could be it's own again!
I'd push for something of a Caribbean Union to undo all the classism and racism that has been instilled upon them over the last five centuries. Instead now, they could have sustainable energy and convert tall buildings into vertical farms and be self-sovereign and independent again. The islands could work together going forward.
There would be no imaginary lines making up countries here. First Nations would have their own general areas, sure. We would not need to fight or starve. We could utilize all the latest and greatest technology and start from scratch with everything being privacy-centric, open source, free software and hardware. Everything would be "smart" but fully functional offline.
Humans would live in cities that are few and far between. They would reflect the local Indigenous culture. Buildings would have green spaces. We would not just re-wild but, foster new ecosystems to account for global warming and devastation of natural habitat that pushed all the animals out to begin with. Work needs to be done to return to a harmonious state.
This is seriously something I could write an entire book on but, I'll stop here for now. lol.
