My parents were "Greatest Generation", which makes me a Boomer. I liked the fact that my mom and dad weren't averse to holding hands or hugging in public. My mother and her sisters taught me how to cook, and I'm proud of my skill. My father taught me how to use tools safely, and how to troubleshoot problems logically, and how to fix just about everything, and also how to drive well. (Although I don't feel it's safe for me to drive since the stroke - I get overwhelmed by too many inputs too fast.) So I had a pretty reasonable upbringing. And I became a hippie in my late teens (early college years, 1966 to 1972 or so.
