Here are the setting notes for "Recognize Your Disabilities But Emphasize Your Possibilities."

This sign marks the large animal clinic of the New Hope Veterinary Clinic.

The large animal clinic of the New Hope Veterinary Clinic stands just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. It serves primarily farm animals such as cows and horses along with some wildlife like deer and bobcats.

The small animal clinic of the New Hope Veterinary Clinic is in Omaha, Nebraska not far from Hanson Hall. It serves primarily cats and dogs, but also exotics like rabbits or snakes, and certain wild animals such as squirrels and pigeons.

In Hanson Hall, Dobutsu Kannon Temple of Animal Care has an office, a studio, and a classroom.

The office includes a desk and shelves with houseplants.

The dottie has a bathtub with shower, a toilet, and a sink (not visible from this angle).

Ahimsa's corner of the studio has built-in bookcases, several desks and racks pushed together in U-shape, and a large easel.

Shiv's desk includes assorted art supplies and rails to hold pictures. The cat in the upper right with only one eye is Winky.

"A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities."
William Arthur Ward

Shiv rented an art studio on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Hanson Hall in "A Haven That Purifies Emotions."

In local-America, the veterinary culture strongly works against disabled pets, and as a result, makes it difficult for people to get accurate information about different options and solutions. Unfortunately the same is true for humans: they are more often ordered -- or even forced -- to do a specific thing that is convenient or profitable for the provider, rather than given a range of options and invited to choose which they prefer. That can shorten life, or increase suffering, whether or not death is part of the equation. Both of these have the same undesirable result of people choosing not to seek care because it is either useless or downright dangerous to them.

Terramagne-America does better on average, for both animals and humans. One reason is because it puts them together -- pets with disabilities can teach humans how to handle disabilities. People understand more about how to improve life for disabled cats, dogs, or other animals. They learn more about how to rescue endangered animals with serious injuries. Lessons from pet-proofing a house for a disabled pet can also be applied to child-proofing or to accommodating human disabilities. In this case, the Dobutsu Kannon Temple of Animal Care is based in compassion, but it also works to normalize disabilities by showing them in person, in videos and still pictures, in art classes and artwork. That has benefits not just for the animals in question, but for the people around them.

A mensch is a person who can be relied on to act with honour and integrity. But the Yiddish term means more than that: it also suggests someone who is kind and considerate.
Rabbi Neil Kurshan, author of the book Raising Your Child to be a Mensch, characterizes it as "responsibility fused with compassion, a sense that one's own personal needs and desires are limited by the needs and desires of other people. A mensch acts with self-restraint and humility, always sensitive to the feelings and thoughts of others".
Other characteristics include decency, wisdom, kindness, honesty, trustworthiness, respect, benevolence, compassion, and altruism.

Art media range from affordable to expensive. Compare some:
• Oil paint: relatively expensive due to easel, picture carrier (canvas on stretcher frame), solvents and cleaning agents, etc.
• Acrylic paint: rather inexpensive
• Watercolor: rather expensive, especially if you use good watercolor paper (e.g. handmade paper)
• Gouasche / Tempera: rather inexpensive
• Coloured pencils: very inexpensive

Rob Ross painting supplies include a few tools and various brands of paint. The limitation of tools and supplies makes this one of the most affordable approaches to painting.
