Community Building Tip: Chairbombing

For my current set of tips, I'm using the list "101 Small Ways You Can Improve Your City.

21. Go chairbombing. Public benches and seats have been removed in many cities due to fears of loitering, which often has the sad side-effect of discouraging community interaction (cue Forrest Gump). To encourage people to sit, share, and socialize, Brooklyn group DoTank started chairbombing, upcycling discarded pallets into street furniture they set up on empty sidewalks, reclaiming the corner for the public.

Birdfeeding

Today is cool and intermittently rainy.  It's still too wet for yardwork.

I fed the birds.

The celandine poppy is still blooming.  Something else is sprouting that I don't recognize from its shoot.

EDIT 4/25/20 -- It has stopped raining, so I went outside and raked some bare patches, then planted grass seed.

I saw a goldfinch in his yellow summer coat eating from the thistle sock, and a phoebe going from one feeder to another.  :D

EDIT 4/25/20 -- I went back out and planted more grass seed.

Poem: "Puddle of Darkness, Trickle of Light"

Today's Smoothie

Today we made a smoothie with:

1 cup mango nectar
1 carton Yoplait vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup canned crushed pineapple
1/2 cup Season's Choice tropical blend frozen fruit (pineapple, mango, papaya, strawberry)
1/2 cup ice

This one is pretty good.  The color is pale orange, the texture just a little thicker than juice, with a pineapple-tropical flavor.
