Read "so small" by Alexconall

[personal profile] alexconall has written "so small" based on my prompt for the current call.  It's a beautiful, meditative poem about water, land, and other resources on Earth.  And it's all written in kinetic imagery.  If you ever need to explain environmentalism to a touch-dominant person, use this.

Stonehenge Settlement

My partner Doug tipped me to this article about a settlement near Stonehenge that demonstrates the area was occupied permanently rather than temporarily.

Intersectionality in Storytelling

Here's a great post about intersectionality in storytelling.  The author is gay and black, enjoys writing genre stories, and keeps running into people who want to take some or all of that out.  Intersectional writers get treated like shit.  And this is why we have cookie-cutter entertainment that is not, after you've read the same thing 50+ times, very entertaining after all.

Thank gods for crowdfunding where we can have intersectional characters if we want them.

Poem: "Out of His Head"

This is the free epic for the May 6, 2014 Poetry Fishbowl reaching the $200 threshold, as selected in an audience poll.  It was inspired by discussion with [livejournal.com profile] johnpalmer and [livejournal.com profile] technoshaman under the poem "Listening to the Lifebeat."  It also fills the "Possession / mind control" square in my 8-12-13 card for the Hurt/Comfort Bingo fest.  This poem belongs to the series Frankenstein's Family, visible on the Serial Poetry page.
