Today's Adventures
Today we went up to visit Dad.
On the way up, we got second breakfast at Vita's. <3 their shrimp tacos.
We looked at Dollar General for large flowerpots, which they didn't have, but I found a storage tub.
We picked up lunch from Manolo's. They have a big selection of empanadas currently. :D
Then we went to Kickapoo Park for a picnic, along with several other relatives. We talked for a while and that was fun. I tried the curried sweet potato empanada; it had great flavor but was too spicy for me. I wound up with ham-and-cheese, corn-and-cheese, and apple for dessert. Some other folks liked the curried sweet potato, though. I walked around the park for a bit and sat on the swings. Cottonwood trees were sending out their seeds. I saw a bluebird! First time I've seen one in decades.
On the way home, we stopped at Harvest Market. I found some pears, a carton of fancy yogurt, and ice pops among other things.
We tried a couple more Dollar General stores. I found two giant flowerpots at one of those, so that's good progress.
Finally, we went to Dairy Queen for a blizzard. The s'mores flavor is quite tasty.
We also finished reading Taste of Home's More Grandma's Favorites 2025.
It has been a good day.
