Buy Nothing Day
Today is Buy Nothing Day.
Here are some ways to celebrate it. Especially apt:
* Barter instead of buying.
* Promote the gift economy.
* Start a Givebox, Little Free Library, BookCrossing zone, or exchange shelf.
* Promote the right to repair.
* Learn how to fix things.
* Upcycle things.
* Create!
* Cook at home.
* Spend time with friends and family.
* Explore hobbies.

I might buy something today
Re: I might buy something today
Regarding unwanted books: I have a hard time getting rid of those too. I discovered that it's easier if I reserve the money (or trade-in value) from taking them to a used-book store for acquiring new books that I like better.
