Fandom Snowflake Challenge Day 13: "Goals"
Day 13:
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Here are my goals for 2018.
Me, I'm a professional writer, and fanfic is something I use for relaxation. So I tend not to set goals there. However, I would like to write and post more in Love Is For Children this year.
What are some of your goals?

2) finally work up the nerve to actually *post* stuff (One is already in the works; I'm waiting on feedback from someone whose OC I'm playing with)
3) geek out about worldbuilding with others-it helps, even if I don't have the tools or nohow to draw maps yet.
...
LLove Izs for Chilren is great. xd
-Fallon/others~
PS: another goal is to have some of mine write stuff from their on POV's. It's a challenge, let me tell you, especially since...well Jay's writing type is a bit how he speaks. which is all over the place. xd

Go you!

I wish you luck with this.

:D Any time.
*ponder* You might consider making maps with Legos. They do topography quite well, and it's possible to get rather large baseplates. That would be more durable than, say, mapping with textured cardboard.
If you like worldbuilding, I recommend studying the underlying sciences like geology, meteorology, and biology. One of the things I did for Torn World was take Ellen's generic "sea monsters make water travel dangerous" and build an entire food web of hazardous megafauna. It has everything from huge apex predators down to merely longboat-sized nuisances.

Thank you!

That's a great idea.

Yeah, he codeswitches, but most underdogs do that. Sticking to one register takes a bit of practice. He'll get the hang of it.
Re: Thoughts
It's a go! OMG she said it was ready, and she din't really change much except typoes. I did because your resources on Black English gave me ideas. I'ma run it through my fingers and someone else before I post it (2 if you don't mind looking at it, too) before I post it, but then it's a go live project. :d
:D Any time.
I have crests! One of my other multiple-system friends is drawing them up! I finally have representation of some of the major things for this world, and I'm...it makes me happy. :)

I'd forgotten about the lego option. I'll have to see if I can sock some money away for those because that would be useful. Especially for laying out thje landscaping of a fewe people's houses I have brainmaps for.

Ooooh hell yes! :d :d :d

He gets it a little more, but he's had brain injuries in the past, so it makes it hard for him to stick with one pattern for long. It literally gives him a head ache no matter what techniques he does. It helps that the family doesn't mind his codeswitching, and doesn't make him not do it. He can do it if he need to (before about 20-30 minutes bfore he starts to get a head ache from it) but he doesn't like having to. He lets Del do most of the 'formal shit' as he calls it if it goes any longer than 45 minutes to an hour of single register talking.
It's gotten a bitt better; I think now he can go a solid hour (If necessary) and can push it to 1H15M, but that's his upper limit at this point.

Yay!

That sucks. :(

I want to do more that's creative this year generally, be it writing or making things out of yarn or beads and wire or fabric. That aspect of myself has been dormant, or subsumed under more immediate concerns, for a long time, and the lack is affecting me in ways I don't much like. It's not a luxury; it's a necessity, as much as food and air and shelter. If I sell or barter some of it, wonderful, but it's the making that matters most.

Classes, bitches. xd

Yes, that's true.

Good luck with it! If writing appeals, feel free to play in my sandboxes.
Re: Thoughts
Thank you. I may take you up on that. If so, you'll always see what I've written before I consider posting it publicly. (Which may happen rather sooner than later. I did mention odd dreams associated with designing quantum jewelry while drifting off to sleep?)
Re: Thoughts
That would be so awesome.

Reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. If you start picking at the seams, then other things show through.
Re: Thoughts
The Universe has a way of swatting me on the head should I occasionally forget that....

I just finished half of a shared goal, which is to set up community altar space. I cleared a shelf for it, but... now what? Time for research.
The other is doing personal emotional/head work. I don't know how much I'm going to be working with the tangled overgrown-in-the-wrong-places hedge I have now to make it more functional or try to work from the ground up with places that never saw sunlight to begin with. We'll see.

Well, you can pick a goal per day, or do ongoing work, or honor ancestors -- there are many options.

Consider alternating between the two. Then if one doesn't work, you've got the other; and if they both do, you can spread out the growth.

I also am going to try to organize the house, & budget our finances.

My goals tend to be more art/drawing based this year...
