to me, blue bottles are a type of fly found on cadavers. They're used to estimate how long the body's been dead.

(I obviously read too many forensic science mysteries).

I am familiar with blue bottle flies, which is why I used that title. And I have a poem that I want to show you backchannel.

That was where my mind first went, too. My bedroom got infested with them one summer when I was in High School, after a squirrel died in the wall. Horrible things.
