Magpie Monday

dialecticdreamer is hosting Magpie Monday with a theme of "recovering from nightmares."


For each person who sends at least one prompt, I’ll write a story, send it via private message or (for too long fills) an email, then write a brief thumbnail summary and post that in reply to the comment, and move on.

The prompt call will be open until around midnight local time on late Tuesday/early Wednesday, which gives everyone time to join in.

You said "magpie" I thought "shopping" and then thought, three friends go shopping for fun. One friend sees a shiny thing that they want but certainly don't need. (Also they definitely don't think they deserve nice things)

Your choice on what the shiny thing is (if it's Shiv, I have a few ideas and am curious 🤔 what you yourself would choose) and whether the friends convince them to buy it for themselves, or if the friends get it for them as a gift 🎁!
