Snowflake Challenge 7: Interact

Challenge #7

In your own space, interact with a community or a fic. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Here's some ideas if you need them:

* Go to AO3 and sort the fics in your favorite fandom by comments, and leave a comment on the one that has the least.

* If you would like to find a community that suits your interests, try [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith's Follow Friday tag. The communities are sorted by topic. Maybe post something relevant in one of those communities.

Today I plan to go through my "short list" of personal favorite communities and post to the ones that are relevant. So far ...

* I posted about my local bird activity in [community profile] birdfeeding. This community is for people who love birds and activities related to them such as birdfeeding, birdwatching, and resources for supporting birds.

* I posted a review of The Way Home cookbook in [community profile] book_love and [community profile] books. This is a Gullah Geechee cookbook, and we've already found a couple of great recipes in it.

* I commented on a couple of posts in [community profile] common_nature, and made a post mentioning some of my recent spring planting planning and mentioning [community profile] birdfeeding as a new community. I also crossposted the plant post to [community profile] gardening.

* I posted my recipe for "Spicy Butterscotch Sauce" in [community profile] creative_cooks and [community profile] recipecommunity. I also commented in [community profile] creative_cooks.

* Today's Follow Friday theme is "Adventure" (both actual and imaginary).  I've made the weekly gather post in [community profile] followfriday and linked my post in a comment there.

* I commented on the latest gather post at [community profile] journalsandplanners regarding my desktop calendar.

* I commented on the latest three gather posts at [community profile] awesomeers with things I have done.

Regarding my other favorites:

* I already blacked out my January card for [community profile] allbingo, so my next post there will be opening the Valentines Fest on February 1.  Check out the 2023 Community Calendar for a list of upcoming fests.

* The next [community profile] crowdfunding post will be opening the Creative Jam, which I plan to do after midnight so it'll show up as Saturday.  This event will run January 14-15 with a theme of "Youth."  Come give us prompts, or claim some for your own inspiration!

* I post periodically in [site community profile] dw_community_promo to remind people of my communities.  My introduction post for [community profile] birdfeeding is still at the top of the stack.  If you manage a community or have created a new one, make sure to promote it there so people can find it easily.

* I post monthly in [community profile] fandomcalendar to share the upcoming themes for [community profile] allbingo and [community profile] crowdfunding.  You can still see my posts about Public Domain Day Bingo and Youth.

And that's the stack!  \o/  I have interacted with all my currently relevant favorites, and noted my activity on the remaining ones.

My Favorite Communities

[community profile] allbingo hosts a new fest each month. February is Valentines Bingo. This year the prompt subcategories are: Romantic, Erotic, Heartbroken, Platonic, and Solo. You can also play lists from previous years or the Bingo Card Generator, or mix and match. New this year is the Valentines Meet and Greet post. It has a form to fill in your interests, and below the post, members can introduce themselves and talk about the theme. There's quite a lively discussion there. January's fest is Public Domain Day Bingo with subsets of prompts for Sherlock Holmes, movies, literature, and music. It also has a Friending Meme.

[community profile] awesomeers -- This community exists to encourage us to do the things that help us to challenge impostor syndrome - namely, owning our achievements and telling others about them. Allowing ourselves to feel proud and accomplished. Reminding each other that everyone makes mistakes, and mistakes don't make you incompetent. In sum: allowing ourselves to be awesome, and supporting each other in being awesome.
Daily gather posts invite you to cite "Just One Thing" you accomplished today.
