Poem: Haiku 1-4-22

These poems came out of the January 4, 2022 Poetry Fishbowl. They were inspired and sponsored by Anthony Barrette. They also fill the "cold" square in my 12-23-21 card for the Story Sparks Fest.

Haiku 1-4-22

outside, cold and gray
winter lingers, but inside --
new seed catalogs!

* * *
sunshine on the ice
thows sparkles into the air
silver and gold

* * *
icicles hang down,
hugging the house's shoulders:
fringe of winter's shawl

* * *
dry leaves on the ground
hold the first snow in patches
of white against brown

* * *
cold wind from the north --
a squirrel hogs the bird feeder,
warm in his fur coat

* * *
the sky is light blue,
winter-pale but sunny: not
thinking of snow now

* * *
