Community Refrigerators

Meet the Freedge, a source of free perishables.  Community refrigerators are the newest form of Little Free Pantry, skyrocketing in popularity over the last year or so.  Don't expect them to last long -- the health boards and other authorities will hate these.  And the idea of uncontrolled security in general.

Excellent points.

As climate change progresses, things that used to be safe or only a little risky will become more often deadly. Things that would help keep more people alive include:

* widespread availability of cold drinks, including water and electrolyte drinks

* air-conditioned refuges

* free or subsidized air conditioning

* requirements for schools and workplaces to have air conditioning and maintain safe temperatures

* bans on clothing requirements (e.g. uniforms with long pants, black cloth) that contribute to overheating

* bans on making people work in hot conditions

* making employers liable as a "presumed cause" of environmental injuries (that is, if you worked in the hot sun and your kidneys died, you don't have to prove anything; it's automatically considered your employer's fault)

* alternative building types such as cob and earthberms that contribute to comfortable temperatures

Add in efficient transportation.

And re: uniforms...well sometimes skirts become an unintended loophole.
