Haiku Haiku

Haiku are funny.
You see people count on their
fingers every time.

Not exactly your typical allusive haiku, but it wouldn't be funny if it wasn't true :D

*laugh* Good one!

In fact, I encourage people to count on their fingers if it helps them with syllabic or metered poetry.

[Hm - riffles through the mental archive... How 'bout this?]

DECLINING THE NAKED HORSE

The naked horse came into the room.
The naked horse comes into the room.
The naked horse has come into the room.
The naked horse will be coming into the room.
The naked horse is coming into the room.
The naked horse does come into the room.
The naked horse had come into the room.
The naked horse would of come into the room
again if we hadn't of stopped it.

That works!

[identity profile] tabard.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
*lol* That's fantastic! Language classes would've been even more entertaining if the instructors had added stuff like this to their repertoire.

[identity profile] ysabetwordsmith.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
I try to keep my language classes entertaining by the inclusion of humor and whimsy. I wrote one on LAadan for the Grey School of Wizardry; that was fun.

And now...

I *love* this. Whenever I am having a crappy day I go watch it until it makes me giggle. It always works! (Tho' sometimes it takes longer than others...)

Llamas! :D

Also: Mango, mango, mangomangomango, mangoooooooo

I could listen to this thing all day (and have once or twice). Mango <3!

Now I'm going to have this in my head the next time I have to battle a live mango for ice cream...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh dear.

*laugh* I am reminded of the traditional ballads with nonsense lines like "hey nonny nonny no."

They make me laugh till my sides hurt. After you've read this one, go back and read the others.

O_O

[identity profile] ysabetwordsmith.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
... but it did make me laugh. Apparently my weird taste in humor is easily discerned from my LJ.

We-ell. It was more like you seem like the sort to be into twisted about fairytales. *grin*

Also, flying hamsters!! (http://www.digyourowngrave.com/flight-of-the-hamsters)

[identity profile] ysabetwordsmith.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
The concept made me laugh. The execution?

I couldn't hit the hamster with the pillow once. I never play computer games, and therefore suck at them. So if y'all need something to laugh at, there it is.

[identity profile] belgatherial.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA. It does take some practice. You've got to hit them as they are next to it (which was counter-intuitive to me - I kept wanting to let go a tad early...). But it's really cool when they fly. *grin*

Also I love that they cheer as much for a hamster that goes nowhere as for one that flies for aaaages.

My favorite thing today. Sometimes the best plots are the sort that a three-year-old can explain.
