Well, yeah, but he's kind of like Dr. Watson in Sherlock Holmes. Watson's not a stupid man, most film portrayals notwithstanding; he just spends all his time with a man who's always the smartest guy in the room. Likewise, Phil's not short; he just spends a ridiculous percentage of his life around the abnormally tall. :)
