Most of my readers are familiar with the way this works: send a prompt, I write a gentle fiction story (I warn for swear words, implied violence, sex, et al) and if I were any good at embroidery any more, I’d embroider “EARNED happy ending” instead fo “Home, sweet home,” and have it framed. With those very loose limitations, ask for the story that you, the reader, want to see.
So, reply to this with a prompt (or more than one) and I’ll write a short story for it. My usual fills run 1200-1900 words, which most people can read in five to ten minutes. That’s a great indulgence for a break. Grab a beverage, read and enjoy something that doesn’t require knowing fifty years of sprawling, conflicting canon (unlike Marvel, DC, or now, Dark Horse).
Because this is posting late on Monday, locally, I’ll close the prompt call sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday, just to give everyone a chance to join in.
To get more words, post a very brief invite and link to this, and tell me about it in your prompt comment. Each signal boost will add a hundred words to the minimum word count. I try to be generous with word counts.
