Today's Adventures
Today we went out shopping.
First we got lunch at Dairy Queen. Then we went to the credit union.
I went plant shopping at DeBuhr's. I picked out about 5 flats of plants. I found one 8-flat, one 10-flat, and one 12-flat of pots that actually fit the trays. Then I filled two more with miscellaneous sizes crammed in however they'd fit. This includes flowers for the barrel garden and other spots, herbs for various locations, and a generous selection of tomatoes. :D
Then we went to Home Depot. We found a 100-foot expandable garden hose, a hose reel, a very nice spray nozzle, and a gas can. I hope the expandable hose works out. I was hoping to find a flat one that came with its own reel, but nobody seems to have anything like that currently. The nozzle has a thumbwheel to control water flow instead of a grip trigger, which is great because I can hold it securely without turning the damn thing on. It also has 8 or so different spray patterns. Now I just have to hope that there's enough water pressure for it to work.
I also spotted the Rubbermaid FastTrack Garage Organization System. This is just as versatile as the Ryobi Link, cheaper, and not Antagonist green. I think it will work well with the metal pegboard that we also want to put in the garden shed.
On the way home, we stopped at Chipotle for agua fresca and got the watermelon-lime, which is excellent. We weren't impressed with their food -- there are much better Mexican restaurants around here -- but we love the hell out of those agua frescas. They usually have 4-5 different flavors. <3
By the time we got home, it was evening. I managed to plant the 'Sugar Snack' and 'Yellow Pear' tomatoes in the big pots by the septic garden, each with 4 marigolds.
It has been a fun and productive day.
