Poem: "Hunting for Hidden Gold"
This is the second freebie for the Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by an anonymous prompt in this thread over on ![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
snowflake_challenge. It also fills the "hunting for hidden gold" square in my 1-1-24 card for the Public Domain Day Bingo fest.
"Hunting for Hidden Gold"
The sleeping cat curls up
beside the fireplace.
His soft purr fills the air
with a low, rhythmic drone.
Now and then, a paw twitches.
In his dreams, he is chasing
after goldfinches and deermice.
He is death wrapped in shadow,
hunting for hidden gold.
