Can't login right now but: yummy images! We just spent 3 weeks in NZ and learned they imported living sequoia sempervivens there extensively during the mid 1800's! also we did get to do a treewalking of a lovely Grove of 120 year old sequoias. So my mental images and memories are recent, vivid, and appropriate to this story! (I like it lots)
