I just got the completely wild idea of a stand of cattails, or maybe just a cattail or two, getting souped up to about the intelligence level of that regenerative poison ivy by whatever nasty decided to crash the marsh, but deciding no, why would we want to do evil things? The humanthings will kill us! and going neutral if not outright bright, or as much as can be with that level of forethought capability. Cue one ticked off evil monster thing.
