Well ...
That sucks.
But it does offer interesting avenues of exploration.
* With local businesses, you can often reach a person to negotiate with. This is almost never true of chainstores. They run by rote.
* Local delivery is an avenue of expansion for small businesses to compete against larger, less flexible ones.
Things to keep in mind if you find yourself talking with local entrepreneurs, or conversely, disability activists.
