Sex can be part of it, but I have seen Ace polycules (self-defined as such), where people cuddle with neither sex nor romance involved, a pair will be legally married to make adoption easier, and everyone raises the children. Such a triad just bought a house in L-San José. How do they deal with the assumption, in a conservative area, that they're having all the sex when in fact sex isn't part of the picture at all?
