Mudbugs of all sorts. Some of these things are even considered delicacies now, when as late as 200 years ago they were considered trash fish. (Lobster.)

And we *do* nail larger four-foots to the wall for as long as six weeks before eating them. Poultry, not so much. And always in winter...
