Usually it's point-blank work, not remote work, but both teleportation and phasing can work. The catch is that very few people can do it safely and effectively. You have to be able to sense the difference between parent and baby, somehow, and safely remove only the latter while not shredding the former. As with any high-risk emergency surgery, there have been successes ... and some ghastly failures. Due the latter, most people won't even try it. Can't say I blame them.
