Peel strength is maybe a little less than velcro. Give it an inch or so of overlap and pull on it, and it's better. Velcro tends to pull apart partly because the hook side tends to be small, but mostly because the thickness means that the two pieces are farther apart, so they rotate slightly and peel apart. these appear to be an example. Also note the hole at one end which either lets you put a loop around a cable and leave the end free, or make a very strong splice by passing the end of one piece through the loop of the other, and flattening the far end of the loop.
