Oh, now you're giving me ideas. I bet you could replicate snow with pale glitter on white icing.
Hm... We'll have to look for stencils. Or make some. Come to think of it, inverting them so it's glitter around a solid shape could work too, if the icing doesn't get mussed up beyond fixing. Or using them as stamps if the glitter will transfer easily, which I expect some might...

That's among the easiest:
* White glitter on white icing * Clear glitter on white or pale blue icing * Pale blue icing with white snowflakes drawn on it, dusted with clear glitter

Yes. With glitter you'll need stencils with a simple design, rather than the intricate ones for powdered sugar.
One of my quirks is a knack for making things look like the picture on the box. I can't always do it, but sometimes the results are uncanny in precision. I've had people ask where I bought something, and not believe that I made it.
... and that was one of the times I had a complete failure of ingredients to perform as advertised, and had to adapt.

* Same color glitter as icing gives an interesting layered effect.
* Use a stencil to make a shape with edible glitter.

Here is a stencil search site:

Or print them to cut out, if they are simple enough:

Using stencils:

It's easier with blocking than transferring.

Glad I could help.
