Brief jail time, at least -- T-America really tends to save jail for violent crimes. But you know what? They have multiple other options, a common example of which is fines, but somehow I think he's going to have trouble buying his way out of this and instead get stuck with loooooooongass hours in community service.

If it got stopped early enough, then it's only local and state laws probably. If money already changed hands, though, instead of being all commit-before draw-after, then it's likely to be federal. He's not in this for peanuts either.
