I am fully bifocal. I can cook by logic or intuition, recipe or zen, translating freely back and forth as needed. This is rare, and sometimes people really snark over it. But I think it's important to explore because that expands what other people can do. Algorithms are tremendously valuable for making your kitchen and pantry more effective. It takes a little practice to identify what is fixed or flexible within an algorithm, and how to describe that, but it's worth the effort.
