[personal profile] dialecticdreamer is running Magpie Monday today, with a theme of "the limits of villainy."  Are you sick and tired of heroes who act like villains?  Of villains who seem to have no limits whatsoever?  Of stories where all the characters are heinous and unlikable?  Get your alternatives here!

I've reached the end of scheduled themes for the Poetry Fishbowl project.  It's time to brainstorm some new themes!  These are a few that I've jotted down earlier, ones that I've thought up or people have suggested, to give you an idea what kind of stuff might be suitable:

* Hurt/Comfort
* Nonsexual Intimacy
* Unicorns

What other themes would you like to see me write about?  Suggest them in a comment below this post.

Later on I'll collect the suggestions and do some polling.  The most popular topics will be added to the schedule for future fishbowls.  Previously, I have just dumped all the proposed themes into a big poll.  The more themes people suggest, the less well this works.  I have an idea for fixing that problem.  This time, I'm going to run the first large poll with checkboxes so you can express interest in as many themes as you like.  I will then use that information to pull out the favorite themes for a smaller poll to select the ones which will appear in upcoming fishbowls.

You can also help by linking to this post so that more people will see it.  Everyone is welcome to suggest themes.  Everyone will also be able to vote for them later; prompters and donors will get extra votes.  If you link to the call for themes, you can reveal a verse in any open perk poem:
"Spirit of Truth"
"Testing the Metal" (5 verses left)
"Dangerous Refuges" (4 verses left)
"From Silica to Silk" (2 verses left)
"The Marble and the Sculptor" (7 verses left)
"Picking Up the Litter" (8 verses left)
"The Golden Peaches of Peace" (9 verses left)

[personal profile] dreamwriters has a prompt call open this month:

So for the rest of the month, I'm running a Irregular prompt call for the remainder of NaNo/Post-Election Poke-A-Bigot-in-the-Eye (on DW) (on LJ)!

Come help me get old previous prompts and new prompts written.

New prompts are preferred to be "Poke a Bigot in the Eye" material featuring: some sort of minority characters, Nonviolent resistance, problems that can't be solved by hitting, and/or gentle/fluffy fiction. But I'm also open to using anything I've linked to on the post. :)

Later on I'll collect the suggestions and post a poll, probably on Monday. The most popular topics will be added to the schedule for future fishbowls.

You can also help by linking to this post so that more people will see it. There are still verses left in the linkback poems "The Tornado Blew Away" and "Unfamiliar Feelings."  Linking to this page will reveal new verses in whichever poem you request. "Mipnei Tikkun Ha'olam" is now complete!

Everyone is welcome to suggest themes. Everyone will also be able to vote for them later; prompters and donors will get extra votes.
