In case anyone who likes fanfic hasn't seen this yet, I have an Easter story for the Love Is For Children series, "Eggshells."

Easter Reread: Eggshells

I've reread that several times, LOL. It's definitely a "comfort read". I love the incongruity of Bruce acting like a four-year old when he needs help with shelling a hard-boiled egg, but drawing seratonin molecule models on the shell.

I think Easter and game nights go together perfectly-- they both symbolize renewal.

Btw, if I didn't post an anonymous thank you for that fic, here's a very specific one- You've inspired this theological conclave (aka Dialectic dreamer household) working on dying eggs this weekend.

>> That's actually quite typical of gifted kids. Their minds tend to develop a lot faster than their bodies. Occasionally you'll see the reverse, kids with mature dexterity at a very young age, but that seems to be less common.<<

I know, I was one, and raised two more. But reading it with adult Bruce 'switching down', it also felt like there were core things that he valued as an adult that he didn't want to lose access to as a kid, hence drawing molecular diagrams.

The other thing that's fun to watch, not so much fun to wade through, is when the kid takes a giant leap ahead in one aspect, and then some other thing drops back, to reintegrate, or give some breathing room, or -something-. (It depended on the kid, the skill, the situation, and more.)

lol Today at clinical we joined the patients in group therapy and were talking about Easter traditions. We had a long discussion about the different ways to paint Easter eggs and I couldn't help thinking it's been awhile since I read this fic.

How fun! I was just telling myself that I should re-read this fic in honor of Easter. First time to comment here, but now that I made a new account, I'll comment more.

I love your stories, by the way. They make me happy, sad, thoughtful. So glad I stumbled upon "Love is For Children". It's difficult to find this type of non-sexual age-play in fan fiction.

I was going to post these to the comment section on the fic itself, but as long as you posted this, I'll do it here instead. :-) My friend and I decorated Easter eggs last weekend, and--as is my tradition when I decorate eggs (I'm Jewish, and only decorate eggs with Christian friends)--I made most of mine fannish. In particular, most of my eggs were Avengers-themed. I did red-white-and-blue for Cap, red-and-gold for Iron Man, etc. However, there was one egg I decorated that I think you'll have particular interest in:

It's not as fancy as something the "real" Natka could do, and I don't think I made the Russian "N" correctly, but I just loved the mental image of her decorating eggs, so I made this for her. The green symbolizes freedom: Natasha's freedom overall, and Natka's freedom to have the carefree life of a child.

(And, as long as I'm posting these...this is the one I did for Clint, the only other one that was for the "person" as opposed to the "avenger":

Purple for comicverse!Clint, of course, and little bits of pink because...well, to be honest, that was just how it came out, but I like them, because I like that Clint is secure in himself not to care.)

And, in case you're wondering...yes, I did reread this story on Easter. :-)
