This poem fills a square on my card for the [community profile] kink_bingo fest. This fest encourages people to push the limits of their comfort zone by creating erotica, pr0n, smut, and other sexy stuff in the many flavors of kinky, sensual, and otherwise exotic activities. I'm hoping to attract some new readers for my writing.

The following story belongs to Schrodinger's Heroes, featuring an apocryphal television show supported by an imaginary fandom. It's science fiction about quantum physics and saving the world from alternate dimensions. It features a very mixed cast in terms of ethnicity and sexual orientation. This project developed with input from multiple people, and it's open for everyone to play in. You can read more about the background, the characters, and a bunch of assorted content on the menu page.

Fandoms: Original (Schrodinger's Heroes)
Kink: Suspension
Medium: Poetry
Summary/Preview: Quinn enjoys suspension in many different forms.
Content Notes: No standard notes apply.
Additional Information: NSFW. Canonical trans/genderqueer character (Quinn is genderqueer). Canonical asexual character (Ash). Canonical characters of color (Ash, Bailey, Kay, Morgan, Pat). Bondage. "The Suspense Is Thrilling Me"

Quinn would try just about anything,
and he enjoyed a great many erotic activities,
but one of his favorites was suspension,
in as many flavors as possible.

It started out as a joke --
Quinn kept teasing Chris
because they were both drunk
and getting more annoying by the minute.
After Quinn passed out on the couch,
Chris got out the duct tape,
and Quinn woke up stuck to the ceiling
with a hard-on that he couldn't budge to reach.

Next came the mission where they had to
scale a cliff to break into a secret base.
Kay buckled Quinn into the climbing harness
and stayed close to make sure that
he made it safely up the sheer rock face.
When she unbuckled him at the top,
he almost collapsed, so she took him
behind a boulder and finished him off with
a few careful squeezes of her powerful hand.

Alex devised an equation
that used the Teflon Teferact
to shuffle through infinite possibilities
and manifest them so that Quinn was always
just about to start falling but never fell,
just about to move hands or feet but never did,
floating in the moment between no and yes
while spacetime curled itself softly around him
to hold every bit of him fast without ever touching.

Then Bailey invented an antigravity device,
lifting Quinn slowly off the floor
to press him against the ceiling,
gently at first and then more firmly
until he could barely breathe.
When Bailey let him down,
he had to run to the bathroom for relief.

Pat and his polyfamily invited everyone over
for barbecue one lazy afternoon.
They brought out a blanket
and took turns tossing people in it.
Quinn soared happily through the warm Texan air,
and then they all caught him, so many hands
that he could hardly count them, passing him
around overhead, nobody hesitating
to touch him anywhere, everywhere.

After watching Quinn explore
various forms of suspension,
Ash quietly remarked that
one of her uncles was a tie-him-up man
and she knew how to wind the blanket and ropes.
Quinn was awestruck that she would share
such an intimate part of her culture with a foreigner,
but Ash only shrugged and said that all two-spirits were sacred.
So he let her bundle him into the blanket
and tie the ropes tight, then hoist him high into the air
where he seemed to float free of his body
and come back with insights that he could not quite describe.

When Quinn broke his ankle on a mission,
it was Tim the Tentacle Monster who carried him home,
carefully immobilized to prevent further injury.
Tim's tentacles were soft but strong, holding Quinn close,
coiled around him like living ropes.
Not being human, Tim could not understand
the concepts of sex and romance.
So Quinn said nothing about how arousing it was,
merely rode silent and wanting in Tim's grasp,
but the memories featured in his fantasies for weeks.

Morgan was the one who insisted
on following the crazed aliens
all the way back to their starship
to make sure they left never to return.
In zero gravity, everyone floated gracefully
alongside the viewport, caught and held
by a different application of gravity.
Quinn was falling free, wild with the joy of it,
and even though he was the only one
who comes in his pants, he was not
the only one with his face wet.

Quinn loved suspension because,
for a brief time, it let him
be a soul, not just a body,

Not *my* kink... but... you did *two* things there.. one, the technical aspect, making Quinn able to be *physically* genderqueer... I'd never seen that done before.. and then there was this:

where he seemed to float free of his body
and come back with insights that he could not quite describe.

That.... that... I can't English that.. just, "oooh"...

*quiet smile, knowing my hindbrain has some serious chewing to do*

Thank You.

>> be a soul, not just a body,
genderfree. <<

I visit not just a person but a world like this sometimes, when I'm dreaming. It's nice to find a glimpse of it anywhere at all when my eyes are open.

Thank you (again).
